In a historic leap for India and a proud moment for every Indian, Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla of the Indian Air Force became the first Indian astronaut aboard the International Space Station (ISS), marking the country’s return to human spaceflight after 41 years.
At Bharat Solar Power, we believe innovation is the soul of national progress
Shukla is part of the prestigious Axiom-4 mission, launched from the Kennedy Space Centre in the U.S. and now docked safely at the ISS. He joins three other astronauts from the United States, Hungary, and Poland. This mission is a major milestone not just for global collaboration in space but as a symbol of India’s growing strength in aerospace and science.
From the Sky to the Stars
The last Indian to venture into space was Rakesh Sharma in 1984. His iconic words “Saare Jahan Se Achha” still echo in Indian hearts. Today, Shubhanshu Shukla carries that same spirit into orbit, signaling the rise of India’s Human Space Programme.
“This is not the start of my journey to the International Space Station, it is the start of India’s human space programme,” Shukla said.

During their two-week stay aboard the ISS, the astronauts will engage in:
- Cutting-edge scientific research
- Global STEM outreach programs
- Commercial collaborations
- In-orbit technology demonstrations
Powering the Future, From Earth to Space
At Bharat Solar Power, we believe innovation is the soul of national progress. Just as we strive to energize the nation through reliable and sustainable solar mounting structures, India’s mission to space is energizing a generation’s dreams of science, exploration, and global leadership.
India’s journey to the stars is powered not just by rockets and astronauts but by the collective ambition of engineers, scientists, manufacturers, and innovators back home.
A Proud Moment for a Powerful Nation
As we watch the tricolor soar beyond Earth’s atmosphere once again, we’re reminded of what India can achieve when vision meets action. We congratulate ISRO, Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, and every hand that made this moment possible.
From the deserts of Rajasthan to the stars above India is rising.
And at Bharat Solar Power, we’re proud to be a part of that rising energy.
